China Eastern Airlines will launch its first regular direct flight from Kazan to Shanghai on September 28th. Kazan will become the third city in Russia to have direct flights to Shanghai.

Xiang Bo said at the new route promotion conference, "Opening direct flights from Kazan to Shanghai meets the needs of expanding Sino Russian exchanges and cooperation. This is also an important measure to implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of China and Russia." He pointed out that in recent years, Tatarstan and other federal subjects of the Volga Federal District have continuously expanded their cooperation with China, and the trade volume between Tatarstan and China will exceed 3 billion US dollars in 2023.
