China Hainan Airlines will open a new passenger route from Moscow to Haikou on August 26th.

It is reported that this will be the first direct flight from Haikou to Russia. The message shows that the round-trip flight is scheduled to operate three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The flight time from Moscow to Haikou is 9 hours and 35 minutes, and the flight time from Haikou to Russia is 10 hours and 10 minutes.

In June 2024, the Russian Minister of Transport and the Chinese Deputy Minister of Transport discussed increasing the number of flights between the two countries at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Hainan Airlines stated that this flight will have significant implications for the economic development of Haikou and Moscow, as well as for promoting cultural exchanges between the two cities.
