Recently, Jinshan District and Alibaba Cloud officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to accelerate the construction of the Alibaba Feitian Cloud Intelligence East China Computing Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Alibaba Cloud Jinshan Computing Center"), a super-large-scale facility powered by the "Zhenwu" chip. The center is set to become one of the largest intelligent computing hubs in East China, supporting Shanghai's goal of building an artificial intelligence powerhouse.

The collaboration between Jinshan District and Alibaba Cloud dates back to 2021, when the RMB 40 billion Alibaba Cloud Jinshan Computing Center project first took root in the district. Under the new agreement, the center will focus on deploying T-Head's "Zhenwu" computing chips, building a fully self-developed computing foundation—from underlying chips and intelligent computing platforms to upper-level applications—while aiming to become a benchmark for green computing infrastructure.

Leveraging the Alibaba Cloud Jinshan Computing Center, the two parties will jointly promote the development of the computing ecosystem and support the construction of a round-the-clock, citywide AI-powered city in Jinshan. Alibaba Cloud will also fully support the intelligent transformation of local enterprises, actively participate in the digitalization of government services and urban governance, help build secure and stable government service infrastructure, and apply AI technologies to improve real-time public service efficiency.

Alibaba Cloud currently operates over 94 availability zones across 29 regions worldwide. The Alibaba Cloud Jinshan Computing Center will work in coordination with other hubs in Zhangbei, Ulanqab, and beyond to form a nationwide, ultra-large-scale intelligent computing network.
